A Pleasant Surprise at the Viking Inn
The Viking Inn was a very pleasant surprise! It looks like it’s been renovated recently, though I’m not sure exactly how long ago. The rooms look luxurious and are clean and the beds are very comfortable—definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
There are a few amenities that would have made the stay even better, such as an ironing board, an iron, makeup mirror and a blow dryer. There’s also a small foyer area in the room that could really use a table or surface to set your things on.
I was especially happy to see that they offer laundry facilities, but unfortunately, they weren’t hooked up yet, which was a bit disappointing. On the bright side, the continental breakfast was a lovely touch, and it starts early enough for those of us who like to hit the road first thing in the morning.
Overall, it was a very lovely stay and I would definitely consider staying here again as they continue to improve.

I stopped at the Viking Inn after riding my motorcycle for an hour and a half in a torrential rain. Although it was only 11 AM, I asked if they would have a room by any chance. I was told they were just finishing up a room, and they could give it to me. They were so outgoing and friendly. The young lady at the desk made me tea.||The rooms are spacious, clean and quite modern. Really everything is here that you need fridge microwave etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

If you have the chance to stay at the Viking Inn, don’t hesitate! This is our second time staying with our hockey team this year, and once again, it was a fantastic experience. The lobby is spacious and modern, and the rooms are updated, bright, and exceptionally clean. The complimentary breakfast is top-notch, featuring fresh fruit, a great selection of bread and cereals, quality coffee, and a variety of fresh juices. From the friendly staff to the modern amenities, everything about the Viking Inn is outstanding. Highly recommend!

I seldom leave a review, but was so impressed by this small town hotel! The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the lobby and rooms were newly renovated; very clean, with new linens, mattresses, etc., and a big screen TV, with lots of channel selection. The continental breakfast was basic, but was nice to be included!
The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 was that there was no small table inside the rooms with coffee maker, no closet rods to hang coats, etc; obviously due to still being renovated.

I had an initial issue with being able to access the Viking Inn after hours despite having a reservation. Once the issue was identified, the owner and staff bent over backwards to help rectify it, which I really appreciated. The Viking Inn is nice as it is newly renovated and the staff are kind.

Members of our hockey team stayed at the Viking Inn, Viking, Alberta for a weekend during January 2025. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and clearly wanted to ensure all guests had a comfortable stay there. The rooms were a good size, very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is a simple self serve style, which they left out longer than the advertised time to ensure all guests had a chance to eat, even if they slept in. We were all extremely impressed by the hotel staff and have booked to return for our next Viking tournament in February. I would very much recommend this hotel.

Had a lovely stay at The Viking Inn, was a nice break on my long journey to refresh. Really enjoyed my stay. Check in was simple, nice night of sleep, enjoyed the tv options and a great breakfast to go.

Really recommend staying here.
