A really nice place to have a picnic lunch. There are a half dozen picnic tables scattered through the park most of them in the shade of large pines. One of the tables is close to the lake with great views. The park is very clean and there are lots of garbage cans to dispose of your litter. There are also bathroom facilities.

There is a beach that is a mixture of sand and stone and there is a small rock outcropping at one end which is nice to sit on and take in the view.

It was still closed when we went, but we had a peak of the place and it looks really great! Can’t wait to hang out. It’s a cute place to enjoy nature!

What a great picnic stop / rest stop! Toilets (accessible toilet is available), picnic tables, trash cans, a small sandy/rocky beach and a short walking trail open to the public. There is no boat ramp here.

The beach is small, but with a lower water level it is likely to have enough space for kids to explore.

The sign says “cars only” so if you have a large truck or trailer you may want to skip this spot or park by the road and walk down.

I visited in the fall (October) and the gate was open, but I do not know the dates it is officially closed.

I took my dog down the walking path - it is unmarked - be aware of where you are so you do not wander off the trail. It runs along side the lake so it is not hard to follow, but kids might get lost. Go with your kids.

The trail starts out wide and flat and then becomes more narrow, then steep toward the lake. The first part is a nice walk for everyone, later on it’s a harder walk, and then a bit of a scramble. Be careful! It is not a loop as far as I could tell, you come back the way you went.

It’s a cool little spot, shady or sunny for a spot to eat. No fires allowed. Pick up after your dogs. Use trash cans. Have fun!
