Came here for some local trout advice. They showed me the lures that caught the fish (on my first cast) after unsuccesfuly trying on my own for 4 days beforehand.

They are super knowledgeable and friendly, too!

I give 5 stars for the gear and expertise. I took away two stars because I took my son in to get info about local fishing spots, bought a fishing rod.....and EVERY question I asked, the guy looked at my husband and answered. I hope female anglers feel more seen than me.I had to walk out and my husband also noted that answers to my questions were never directed at me.

Spent over $400 on a rod and equipment. The tip of the rod broke day one. They didn't have a replacement part and told me they don't do loaner rods. If I wanted zero service, I would have bought on Amazon for cheaper prices. Highly disappointing.

*Adding response to Wapiti Sports' comment since Google won't allow me to create another response:

Your detailed warranty instructions are less than useless. As I'm sure is true of most of your customers, I am here on vacation. Sending away for a replacement part is not going to resolve my issue. Your staff's recommendation that I drive to Calgary for the part was as infuriating as it was laughable.

If you want to make it as a small business in a world of Amazon and big box stores, I recommend you work on focusing on the customer. Resolving issues around equipment is as basic as it comes. Simply keeping spare parts in inventory is a no brainer.

Btw, I would have no problem with the above if you were honest about it. Just put a sign on the front door that reads: "Once we have your money securely in hand, you will receive no further service from us." Done, everyone knows what they're getting into.

Buyer beware... buy from this shop and expect zero support for paying premium prices to try to help a small business. No good deed goes unpunished. Plan ahead and buy from Amazon.

These guys are fantastic! They gave us advice on where to go in the area and what to use. I liked the fact that Myles (super cool dude), wasn't about upselling, but all about what was the best for me and my twin boys to have a good time. I will definite be coming here again! Good people here!

Store seemed nice but 2 staff(?) were chatting in the doorway when I arrived, didn't greet me, didn't ask if I needed help, carried on chatting the whole time I was in there said have a good day when I left

I stopped by this shop for a license and for some info on the area. They provided great info on where to fish based on me owning a traveling spinning rod with a box of panther Martins and rooster tails. I ended up catching my first river trout ever in Canmore based on their advice, and the white panther Martin they recommended paid dividends in Calgary while fishing the Bow River in the city before my flight. I highly recommend this place for their honest advice. They helped put me on my first river trout, and I never felt like they were pushing for sales. I’m inclined to take a guided trip next time I’m in the area.
