For those of you who follow my posts, you know that I am the proud parent and adoring fan of cats. Making sure my fur babies are happy and healthy is my primary focus. Luckily for me (and them), we live near the West Brant Animal hospital.
I cannot say enough good about this facility and their caring and professional staff. They provide a superior level of care every time I have needed them. On one occasion I had to have one of my babies put down. Suffice it to say, the folks at west brant were very sweet and supportive of me as I cried over the loss of my cat. They treated the whole process with dignity and respect and they went out of their way to empathize with my situation.
On another occasion, I tried unsuccessfully to add another cat to my home but it just wasn’t working out. I was panicked that the only solution would be to put the cat down but the folks at west brant helped me find an organization that specializes in re-homing cats thus saving the day.
As any pet parent will tell you, pets are like family members and you want only the best for them at all times. For me and my pets, the West Brant Animal Hospital is the place I know is the best for my pets health and happiness.

WBAH took great care of our Zoe for the last 5 years. We started taking her there when she was 10 years old showing some neurological issues. We were referred to a neurologist in Toronto and the care and treatment gave us another 5 years with her. When the time came to say goodbye, WBAH provided us a compassionate environment to say goodbye. Thank you WBAH for the care you have provide her.

The folks at WBAH are great. They always show great care to our fur babies. They have made a ton of cash off us, but worth every penny for the care given. If you’re looking for a vet, I highly recommend them.

I just learned today that this clinic is owned by "Vet Strategy" – a large corporation that purchases independent veterinary clinics and then runs them under their umbrella. This is no longer a locally owned clinic. When "Vet Strategy" purchases new clinics, they provide a document to staff which explicitly states "We are not going to actively communicate to clients nor the community about the change in ownership structure." This is very deceitful behaviour and a clear warning sign for patients.

Our pet became a patient at this clinic when it was owned by Dr. Kevin Harkness. I have not returned to this clinic since 2021 due to a very poor experience involving my pet's medical emergency. I found the staff’s treatment of both myself and my pet to be lacking in compassion and professionalism.

Throughout the visit, there were repeated suggestions for what felt like unnecessary tests and treatments. When I questioned the reasoning behind these recommendations, I did not receive clear, evidence-based explanations to support their decisions.

What made the situation worse was having to transport my pet from their clinic to the overnight emergency hospital in Brantford. I don't live in Brantford and driving to the clinic twice daily while working full-time and having a beloved pet experience illness was incredibly stressful. Upon discharge, I asked for a referral to a 24-hour animal hospital in either London or Guelph (which, at the time, accepted patients by referral only), so my pet could stay in one place if another emergency occurred. The clinic refused to provide the referral and instead told us to "just bring him back to us."

A few days later, they called us five times in a single day to "check in" and requested us to come back to the clinic—even though my pet was stable and there was no clinical reasoning warranting further visits. These persistent calls, combined with the refusal to provide a simple referral, made it clear to me that their priority was profit, not patient care.

Unfortunately, I found this clinic to be completely lacking in compassion. I would not recommend West Brant Animal Hospital to anyone who wants thoughtful, transparent, and patient-centered care for their pet. I would have never come back to this clinic if I knew that it was corporate owned.

My dog loves the vet for all their treats and praise. Clean facility and helpful staff! The vets are knowledgeable and approachable, easy to talk to and ask questions.

The staff were super friendly and had great rapport with our dog. They did the testing quickly and were out of there with little/no time wasted. The results came back within 24 hours, which was great!

First visit at West Brant. The place is lovely. Charlie and I received a warm welcome and Dr. Patel did not rush our visit. Thank you for such a pleasant experience. The senior discount was also very appreciated on top of the lowest vet visit invoice I have EVER seen. Seriously, this has left a lasting impression. Thank you. We will be back!
