I’d like to start off by stating that there is either some acute Compassion Fatigue or a serious case of the “ I can’t be bothers” virus with admitting staff and triage nurse at this Hospital. Racially profiling me as a person who has moved province to province while cringing at the idea that my tetanus shots aren’t up to date is not cool… at all.. not today and not ever. I’ve lived in Alberta for 45 years. As I was Coming in with a kitchen wound that would require some attention with stitches, different ways to question, not interrogate, a patient is strongly advised. The Doctor and her Nurse, outstanding! What a delight after the previously experiencing such toxicity.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank doctor Wayne Qui and the nurse Carol who both gave me the upmost attention today in stitching up my finger. While being there getting treated, it was nice knowing that they took the time to care and have conversation outside of their job. I'm really hoping Dr. Qui will come back to stay in Westlock. Carol when you finally decide to retire it will be very well deserved. We need more like you both.

I don’t understand how this place can be so inefficient. My partner is very ill and just had surgery so went in with unknown pains and they were rude and didn’t care. 2 hours sitting there the lady taking blood comes and she had no idea he was even there as she was just told about him and felt so so bad for the wait. But the ER nurses seemed to not have a care in the world, they were more concerned about making personal plans rather then dealing with an ill patient!

My issue is how is the Barrhead ER so affective and this one complete trash. Why can’t Westlock take some tips from Barrhead to improve the care delivered here in Westlock. This is completely sickening and disgusting the lack of care this hospital has.

Please find away to improve this care facility or close the doors because too many patients have gone uncared for and detrimental things occur from the lack of care.

I recently had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Haitem El Bukhari at Westlock Hospital for abdominal and leg pain. From the very beginning, I was impressed by how thorough, attentive, and compassionate he was. He listened patiently to all my concerns and addressed each one clearly and professionally. What stood out most was his calm demeanour and low, reassuring tone. he truly made me feel heard and cared for.

Dr. Haitem is incredibly efficient too. I didn’t have to wait long, and yet he took the time to explain everything in detail. It’s rare to find a doctor who balances thoroughness and time management so well. I had heard about him through word of mouth in Westlock Town, and even though he’s new to the area, it’s already clear he’s a valuable addition to our healthcare community. We’re fortunate to have him here, and I believe many patients will feel the same.

A big shoutout as well to all the nurses and staff at Westlock Health Centre. They were friendly, professional, and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free.

I give my full recommendation: 5 stars without a doubt. If you’re looking for quality medical care in Westlock, make sure to see Dr. Haitem (and I know many doctors too in Westlock) We truly appreciate his presence and the care he brings to our town.

I knew I had phenomena, I've had it before and didn't feel like waiting 6 hours at sturgeon hospital to get antibiotics so I took a drive out to westlock hospital, took about 45 min to see someone, the nurse took vitals, when I got the chance to see a doctor it was a medical student who didn't know his right foot from left foot, he was wearing dirty sweat pants and a cat hair shirt, very unprofessional. Literally checked my oxygen levels by pressing on my fingernails. I know thats valid but not at a hospital where they have machines that do that. After answering some of the medical students very silly questions and going for x rays of my chest, the real doctor showed up and said I was fine and to take some advil and sent me home. Went to sturgeon hospital the next morning after not being able to breath again and they diagnosed me with a severe case of phenomena. Go to westlock if you have a scratch and need a bandaid that's about all their good for.

My 15 year old went in for mental health. They transfered her from westlock without even a phone call to inform me. I don't mind she got transfered, my issue is the transportation of a minor without the parents knowledge. If my daughter didn't have a phone. I would've went into the hospital and not had a clue where she is. For shame on the entire ER staff at westlock.

Gross hospital... THATS RIGHT AHS keep showing the people how you hire lazy unreliable people to so call clean these rooms in emergency. Still blood in the toilet I bet the bed wasn't even wash down. The previous persons bloody pad left in the garbage.. so people are not cleaning these rooms properly. And not all but the nurse who is suppose to take care of me is a super air head. Ughh coming here before was OK.. I'm here for high glucose levels been here for 2 hours never even got my blood checked yet. Wow keep on disappointing and disgracing AHS.. slowest doctor ever seriously!!! Awesome triage nurse sitting on her phone behind the desk 👏 probably gets paid top dollar.. not all staff are bad seen some nurses working their butts off... but others should choose a different profession cause clearly you suck a patient care.. Come on HUMAN RESOURCES look alive!!!!

Dr. Chan was incredible. He was very knowledgeable and patient when treating my dad who was in for kidney stones. He worked quickly and professionally to ensure we had a wonderful overall experience.
