I’ve been shopping here for 7 years and LOVED the prices and convenient location. I’m also a service dog owner-trainer and valued the store’s dog friendly policy to help socialize young prospects and give adult working dogs “fun time”. Unfortunately, it seems they have abruptly changed their policy to be that dogs are only allowed in the first 20 feet of the store — this is their choice. But when I was surprised by the change I was questioned about missing the new signs that are posted on 9 foot high beams. No longer accessible and will be taking our farm’s business elsewhere.

My family has shopped here for 20 plus years and I have been shopping here for 10 years for our standard breeds and my personal horse. After today and the interaction I have had, I will be taking our business elsewhere. I understand policies change, but there is a better way to approach loyal customers who were respectfully shopping and looking for products. I came in with the purpose to spend a few hundred dollars and only left buying a 12 dollar item after the interaction I had about my very well behaved dog in an area where no clothing was. I walked in, was greeted by I’m assuming the owner and the cashier, there was no mention of a new policy about dog, continued my shopping into the hardwoods (no clothing) and was aggressively asked “what’s the purpose” of my dog coming into the store. There are much more respectful and considerate ways to engage with customers, and from the recent reviews this is an ongoing problem, to address policy changes and new “rules”. This has been my go to store for a number of years and as of late, I will be taking our business elsewhere.

This store is run by people who genuinely care about customer experience.

We started going last year when my son wanted cowboy boots, and I was incredibly impressed with the quality of service we received. We've already returned many times for jeans and belts and have started going for my daughter, who is just getting into English riding.

Their stock and selection of clothes, tack, and accessories is incredible. They are eager to help you leave the store feeling like you made the perfect purchase.

Today, we were in because the stitching came undone on a pair of jeans we had bought before Christmas. They were more than happy to replace the defective pair even though we didn't have a receipt.

As someone who has owned and operated a retail store, I pay close attention to customer experience. Wilson's Tack is a rare gem in today's world.

First time visiting the store, great selection & beautiful place. The female staff were lovely & helpful & answered all my questions. My experience was negatively impacted when the male staff member questioned my choice to clip my horse when I briefly mentioned it as I was looking for a suitable blanket. Without asking more about my situation to better understand, he was very quick to judge & put me in an uncomfortable spot, claiming I wasn’t letting my “horse be a horse” by blanketing him or clipping him. I repeatedly told him in front of my partner & a female staff that I understand everyone has their right to an opinion & I respected his but the conversation was uncomfortable for me b/c I was only there to look for a blanket. He was persistent & the conversation was no longer about blankets but how I chose to treat my horse. This resulted in my departure from the store with a very disappointed, uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. Not the best feeling.

I purchased some items here last month and needed to return an item yesterday. My husband and I walked in and went towards the boots area, thinking that I might exchange my return for another item. The male individual started following me asked if I needed help, I responded no that I have a return but was looking for something else to buy. He rudely said that I needed to leave the item (in a clear plastic bag with the receipt) at the front counter before looking at anything. Insinuating that I may steal something. I was appalled, went to the front and got a refund. The girls there are fantastic, he does a great job of insulting people.

The staff here are really friendly. I’ve came in a couple of times for many different reasons and the staff were really helpful and helped me find what I was looking for. I went in looking for a blanket for my standardbred and the owner asked what kind of horse I was shopping for and he was very helpful in what blanket I should buy for him and what size. They have lots of different price points and lots of different options for whatever you’re looking for. I would highly recommend this place!

Simply the best, great selection, always growing. The owner (I assume) is always so helpful to me ! Honest about his products and hasn't steered me wrong yet ! I assume he's a great horseman by his great advice 🙂
