This is a wonderful place. Kelly is great with all the bird. My neighbor’s became quite ill, and Kelly kept and cared for him until he was able to go home to his family. It was such a relief for them to have a bird expert care for their little parrot.

Whenever I’m in need of a pick-me-up, Ziggy’s is the place! I love spending time in the bird room interacting with whoever happens to be out and about. I do not own any birds right now, but that doesn’t matter to Kelly (the owner). She is so knowledgeable and patient with my questions, and she always slips me some treats to help me make new friends. By the time I head out, I’ve usually amassed an adoring flock of friends who adore my glasses, rings, hair and any buttons or frills I may have on my clothes. It’s always a wonderful experience.

We took our healthy budgie there to get his beak and nails trimmed. And he had a heart attack and died right there and the owner didn’t seem even the slightest bit upset. He was maybe only a year old and we had just got him in February.
He was chirping and talking all morning and we took him for a routine trimming. I called the owner to just see how that could have happened since he was perfectly healthy and all she had to say was “it was so weird”. She takes care of hundreds of birds and yet she has no idea what happened? She shouldn’t be offering the trimming services if she’s unable to detect when a bird is stressed enough to be at the point of a heart attack. These are things she should be knowing when handling other peoples birds.
I suggest if you need your birds beaks or nails trimmed or any services done for your bird you should take them to a vet/professional instead, in order to avoid something like this happening.

If I could give zero stars, I would…

This store handled a bird beak trim so carelessly that the bird tragically passed away. As someone with 10 years of hands-on experience caring for birds—alongside my father-in-law who brings over 20 years of expertise—I can confidently say that there are proper and safe ways to restrain a bird during a beak trim. From what we understand, the bird was not held correctly, likely leading to a fatal neck injury.

Beak trimming requires not only precision but also proper support of the bird’s head for stability—this is not something that should be done solo without the right technique or assistance. It’s heartbreaking to know a life was lost due to what appears to be negligence.

Additionally, I’ve seen questionable behavior from this establishment in the form of retaliatory or manipulated reviews against other bird businesses, including my former one, which raises further concerns about their professionalism.

I would strongly caution others to think twice before entrusting this place with the care of their animals.

This is a wonderful place that's all bird focused! They have actual healthy foods for birds, not just the junk food you only find at big chain stores. The shop owner is a wonderful lady and she's extremely knowledgeable in everything aviary. She has an amazing selection of birds to choose from, too. There is a room for the birds to free fly in so they're not caged up day in and day out, and you can be in that room and interact with the bird you're considering to buy. I highly recommend going there for all your birds' needs, or if you're looking to purchase a bird too. I purchased a Cockatiel from her, and he's been the best curious little companion. I only buy food and toys for my little guy from her.

Kelly is an amazing person . Me and my friends had a good time and the place was full of birds . She is very knowledgeable and we got some finches. We will be back next time . Everyone should be there once . Amazing experience. Exceptional service ❤️❤️🙌🙌

DO NOT support this store. What happened today is beyond unacceptable. My cousin brought their bird in for a basic beak and wing trim, and the bird died during the appointment. The most disturbing part is that the owner showed zero remorse. No apology. No concern. Just cold indifference. Regardless of the cause, whether it was severe shock from mishandling or a suspected broken neck, the bird’s death was met with complete disregard.

The conditions of the store say it all. Cages are smeared with feces. Birds are packed into filthy, overcrowded enclosures. No animal should be living like that. It is clear the priority here is profit, not animal care.

What occurred was inhumane. If you care about animals, avoid this store at all costs.

RIP Blu. You were lucky to have known love and gentleness, even if it was far too brief. You deserved so much better.
